Michelly Cordova Yukako Yamano
Michelly Cordova Michelly Cordova, born in Los Angeles, CA, is known for her dynamic and powerful voice, reminiscent of Ella Fitzgerald in beauty and clarity. She burst onto the Los Angeles Jazz scene in 2006, and quickly gained recognition as a consummate torch singer. During her 2016 tour, Michelly Cordova opened for Madeleine Peyroux at the CoachHouse in Orange County. She started her musical training later than most, at age 25 Michelly studied with Judith Townsend, founder of The Celestial Opera Company. Her natural talent rapidly lead to performer iconic jazz songs by the likes of Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra. To hone her vocal skills, Michelly joined some of the most prestigious jazz jams in Los Angeles. Sitting in with talented musicians from around the world, she mastered the improvisational skills of jazz. She continues to dazzle audiences in Los Angeles and Southern California with songs like her new single “Whisper in the Dark”, which received a standing ovation during her show with Madeleine Peyroux.

In 2015, Michelly Cordova joined the Noma Music group for a multi-song licensing agreement of original music. Michelly’s professional songwriting career began in 2007 with 2 credits from Billy Lee Riley (famed Sun Records Artist), on his final album “Still Got My Mojo.” In 2009, Michelly released her first album “Midnight Lounge”, a collection of jazz standards with non-traditional arrangements, including 2 original songs. This album release was followed by a Netherlands tour to the international stages at the Maastricht Jazz Festival. Countless shows followed, including the Dresden Room with Marty & Elayne, several residencies in Los Angeles clubs, performances in Orange County, San Francisco, Las Vegas and opening for Madeleine Peyroux. Michelly’s musical diversity is captured in her 2011 EP “Love Me, Love Me” and her 2014 album “Love, Dreams and Everything In Between”, co-written with Grammy Nominated Producer Bob Tucker, Jazz Pianist Jane Getz, Michelly Cordova. Michelly is currently recordings with Joseph Holiday, known as Hollywood’s GoTo Music Producer and writing with guitarist & songwriter Mark Hayes. New music to be released the March 2017

This Summer, Michelly Cordova will join Yukako Yamano, Tokyo’s in-demand jazz pianist, in a 5 city tour of the United States. Riding off the success of last years tour, the ladies plan to set this Jazz on Fire.

Yukako Yamano Yukako Yamano, born in Tokyo, Japan, is one of the most in-demand jazz pianists in the Tokyo music scene, today. After a successful tour in 2013, Yukako became known as a rising star of jazz. Starting at the age of 3, she studied piano at the Yamaha Music School. As her passion for music grew, she entered a high school music program at Tokyo College of Music. Then continued as a Classical Piano major at the Tokyo College of Music. At age 18, her expanding interest for music led her to jazz. Shortly after, Yukako began writing and performing her own compositions. While attending university, she gained a deeper understanding of music and grew steadily as a musician. Yukako studied classical piano with Akiko Kodaka & Junko Inada, and jazz piano with Eriko Shimizu. Also, attended the master class taught by a classical pianist, Peter Jablonski. She is currently a certified instructor at Korg Café Style music program and a researcher for the Lee Evans Association.

In January 2013, Yukako Yamano released her first album entitled “1st Stage” with Koichi Osamu on bass and Manabu Fujii on drums, followed by a successful tour of Japan that gained her a spotlight in the Tokyo jazz world. In January 2015, she released her second album “2nd Stage” reuniting her amazing band. Between September 2015 and April 2016, Yukako wrote a music column for the newspaper “Yomiuri Premium”, directly contributing to the growth of jazz music lovers in the Tokyo Music scene. Since the start of Yukako’s professional career, she has played at jazz venues and festivals in Japan and around the world, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, France, Spain, and the United States, with a long list of talented international artists in various music genres.

This Summer, Yukako Yamano returns to the United States, in a 5 city tour with Jazz/Pop vocalist Michelly Cordova from Los Angeles, CA.
